just an update

I know I don't post on here very much, although I check the site multiple times per day I just thought I'd give an update.  I had my surgery on 6/30 and as of today, so 17 days out, I have lost 19.3 pounds, close enough to 20 isn't it?  Today was my first day on food and I'm doing well.  I was able to eat 1 scrambled egg with cheese and for lunch I had 3oz of chicken with a tbs of sour cream and a slice of cheese, which totally stuffed me.  I'm concerned that I'm able to get more down that I should but I'm looking at the calories and since I'm just at 310 for the day I'm alright with that.  However, eating AND getting in my 64 oz of fluids is difficult.  I'm just down up to 32 oz for the day and I still have dinner and another 32 oz to go for the day.  I've lost a total of 11.25 inches since June 14th, most of which was in my bust with a total of 2.5" there and 2" in my stomach.

I go back to Dr. Dyer and the nutritionist on July 30th so hopefully I'll continue to lose on a steady basis.

Also, does anyone use the exercise band?  It's the one where you can step on it and then pull the handle type thing to do curls, and pull it above your head?  I saw it on Rachel Ray last week and thought that it might be a good workout.

Thanks,
Heather

Way to go Heather!!!!! Just remember even though you can hold more doesn't mean you should eat more. That is my problem now. Keep  it up  and again CONGRATS!!!!!!

Thanks Marilyn, today isn't going as well as yesterday.  I can't seem to get any food down without feeling extremely sick to my stomach so I think I'm going to do a day of liquids again and see how that goes.  I'm not really eating more than what is recommended I'm just eating more than what I've seen other people post.

WOW you go Heather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used the band in sculpt class, and it is a workout!!!!  But just my own opinion, I'd have someone show me how to use it, improper use could lead to an injury...

HUGS and Congrats!!!!!

Thanks Amy, and I hope you're doing well yourself after your surgery.

The band came with a DVD but I am going to ask someone who actually knows how to use this thing before I trying anything too fancy.

Congratulations on such a great start.

I have "some" exercise bands - not "the" exercise band.   I got them in PT and I started using them for ankle pumps when I had an ankle injury.   Now I tie one to a doorknob and do 2 rowing types of exercise with them.   I have one tied in a circle and put it around my ankles and walk sideways to strengthen my hips.

I have a 4 month old granddaughter that I use to do curls.   heh heh - we both enjoy it.

PS - I used to have a dog who looked very much like your dog in your avi.   Only with long hair - she looked like that when we shaved her.   She was a South Nashville Butterdog and she lived to be about 17 y/o.   I hope your dog is anything like as fun and wonderful as ours was.
